The honour of most overall wins is taken by Paul Curran, England : 3
The most stage wins is by Des Fretwell, England : 7
The most stage wins by a Scot is a tie with 3 each for Ronnie Boa and George Clare, and the most recent Scottish wins are a stage in 2000 by Roddy Riddle, who also won a stage in 1992.
Before that, Andy Ferry won a stage and was the last Scottish winner of the race in 1987 (when our editor Martin, racing in Andy's "Alba" team was 6th overall). Brian Smith also won a stage that year.
We will of course be covering The Girvan, with interviews, stories from the peloton, and lots of photos.
