Hood's Giro d'Italia Diary
Friday 23rd May - 1st June, 2008
The 91st edition of the Tour of Italy has finished,
and it's been a fascinating battle, with a few surprise stage winners,
apparently "out of form" riders in the top 10 on GC, and
plenty of great stories. In fact, the final week was the deciding
section in all the in-race competitions, and VeloResults
has been there! ! More...
Hamish
Haynes - Letters from Belgium
2008 Season
When we were over at Het
Volk in March, we tracked down former British Elite champion,
Hamish Haynes - he's keeping us abreast of what's going on in "the
heartland" throughout the season. Here's his second installment.

Hood's Tour of Flanders Diary
5th - 6th April, 2008
When I was young (and dinosaurs roamed the earth)
I read and re-read Tom Simpson's autobiography, 'Cycling is my Life.'
The races that he won seemed so tough and so glamorous; I idolised
him - I still do. But it wasn't until I actually saw The Worlds, Milan
- San Remo and the Tour of Lombardy in the flesh, that I realised
how good the man actually was. I'm reminded again today, when I look
at the parcours of 'The Ronde' what a bike rider he really was. More...

Hood's Milan - San Remo Diary
Friday 21st - Saturday 22nd March, 2008
The 99th edition of Milano-San Remo is the first
of the five "monuments" of the professional year, and it's
true to say that the Italian race is one of the the highlights of
every sprinter's season. The race is one of the legends in cycling,
not really because of it's terrain, but rather for it's incredible
history, and for the fact that it is the longest classic on the modern
day calendar. VeloResults
are there! We've managed to grab a place in the Saunier Duval team
car - the team of Riccardo Riccò, who made a tremendous attack
on the Poggio climb last year with around 6km to go - so here's our
Diary of the race - enjoy! More...

Hood's Omloop Het Volk & Kuurne Brussel Kuurne Diary
29th February - 2nd March, 2008
You know you're in Belgium, when . . the barman
is Iljo Keisse's dad - and when there are posters for bike races in
the loo! But I'm getting ahead of myself; "live cargo",
that's how the airlines refer to their passengers. And that's how
we feel: the flight is two hours late and we're sitting on the floor
at Prestwick Airport, or 'Glasgow South' as Ryanair would have it,
despite the fact that we're 50 kilometres from the city on the Clyde.

Hood's Saunier Duval - Scott Team Launch Diary
11th - 14th January, 2008
In 2008, the Saunier Duval - Scott squad has changed
a little from last season - the team is made up of 26 riders, and
one of its distinctive features will be it's youth: there will be
no less than nine men under 24 years of age, and thus the team will
be the second youngest in the ProTour peloton. Ed travelled to Granada
in Andalucia to meet the team and get behind the scenes...
Day 4: I didn't sleep too clever last night (Saturday). I
think the café con leche I had just before the presentation
had enough caffeine in it to keep even Gianni Bugno happy. More...

Oliphant's Tour of Britain Diary
9th - 15th September, 2007
Day 7, the last
day, and Frenchman Romain Feillu (Agritubel) won the Tour of Britain
today in Glasgow, and it was by the smallest margin in the history
of the race - less than half a second! Evan ended up as first British
rider overall - an absolutely fantastic result. More...
