"I didn't have good legs,"

said Tyler Farrar after his surprise victory in the Scheldeprijs today,

"- but my team did such a great job that I felt I had to give something back in the sprint."

Tyler secures one of his season goals.

The Scheldeprijs has been an objective of Tyler's for years;

"This is special because I was thinking all winter about both Gent-Wevelgem and the Scheldeprijs.

"The team worked very well for me and in the closing stages I was lucky that I kept the right wheel. At 600 meters from the finish I found the wheel of my training buddy Weylandt, who was being led out by Tom Boonen, and in the last 200 meters I was strong enough to come by them.

"This is an important victory for me, this is still a semi-classic. The stage victory in De Panne was beautiful, but this is something else altogether."

said the American, speaking Flemish in an interview with Belgian tv.
