Raleigh – Back in the Game

The all-new British-based Team Raleigh was launched recently. Our pal Dan Fleeman - who together with Tom Barras will lead the squad - kindly sent us some pics from the team's presentation which took place at the Eastwood Hall Conference Centre and Hotel in Nottingham, home of the legendary marque.

Earlier in the day, the riders had visited the Raleigh factory to collect their new bikes, and kit.

A past employee at Raleigh, Eurosport commentator David Duffield mc'd the proceedings, and interviewed each of the riders after they had cycled into the presentation.

Raleigh have committed to a three year sponsorship plan, with two additional years possible, and the goal is to attain UCI Continental Professional status by the end of the fifth year.

The team manager, Chris Truett has assembled the ten man team which has an average age of only 22, with eight Brits, an Aussie and a German completing the squad

Together with some races in Europe, the team lists the Tour Series criteriums, the Premier Calendar road series, the Tour of Britain and the Tour of Ireland as the main targets, but today the team travel to Mallorca for a two week training camp before kicking off their season at the Eddie Soens Race in March, at Aintree race course.
